We develop all DT Swiss products for a specific use and the construction of the product is based on the stresses expected as a result of that use. The wheel categories represent the different uses. We break down our wheels into 8 categories for MTB and road bikes. Learn the differences between the categories and the specifications they meet.
Use our Wheel Finder to find the right wheel for your bike and requirements in only a few steps. If you have any further questions or would like advice, please contact a dealer. They'll be happy to help you.
In cycling, rim height significantly impacts the aerodynamics, maneuverability and weight of the wheel. Basically, the higher the rim, the greater the aerodynamic advantage. The lower the rim, the more agile and maneuverable the handling.
By buying a DT Swiss carbon wheel, you will benefit from the Fair Share Policy which allows you to profit from a crash replacement service for your wheels, available for 10 years after purchase.
The DT Swiss Fair-Share Policy is an additional offer from DT Swiss that allows the first owner of a carbon wheel to affordably repair the product in the event of damage while riding (e.g. due to a crash).
It's important to note that normal wear and tear and aesthetic surface-level damage are not covered by the Fair-Share Policy. All information about the Fair-Share Policy can be found here.
The current DT Swiss wheels are tubeless-ready and come with mounted tubeless rim tape and corresponding valves. For conversion, you will need a tubeless-capable tire (optimal: UST) and tire sealant. You can find both at an official dealer. Our How To video will take you through step-by-step assembly.
If you have previously ridden your bike with a tube or if the tape no longer sticks properly to the rim, we recommend that you replace the rim tape as a precaution.
How to attach the tubeless rim tape:
1. Measure the inside width of the rim.
2. The tubeless rim tape should be approx. 2 mm wider than the rim and can be bought from a specialist store.
3. Apply the tubeless rim tape. Depending on the rim/tire combination, it may be helpful to apply two or three layers of tubeless rim tape to optimally seal the rim bed.
