THE quintessence OF 25 YEArS

When tradition meets the future – PRC 1100 DICUT 25Y Edition. A unique wheelset to celebrate our brand’s 25th anniversary, the PRC 1100 DICUT 25Y edition combines traditional technology with an innovative development approach. With a super lightweight build of just 1283 g, it is our lightest carbon clincher disc brake wheelset ever. The 180 hub features the brand-new Ratchet EXP technology for lower weight, optimized stiffness, and extra precision. Applying our guiding principle of Engineering Performance, we have refined and simplified every component in this product down to its essentials.

To celebrate our 25th anniversary we packed all our knowledge and experience into one wheel:

25 Years of Emotions

1995

DT Swiss at the IFMA trade show in Cologne presenting the spoke range with a very creative campaign, which drew many visitors to the booth.

2004

The first Mon Chasseral wheel, named after “our” local mountain. Even back then, this wheel embodied our quest for ultimate performance through its lightness and reliability.

1997

Stefan Spahr, here on an MTB tour around Lake Garda, was the first engineer to develop products for DT Swiss and is still responsible for all wheel projects.

1994

In 1994, Frank Böckmann, Maurizio D'Alberto and Marco Zingg founded the innovative new company DT Swiss AG following a management buyout from the Biel-based "Vereinigte Drahtwerke".

2001

Suspension for more comfort during biking? DT Swiss caters to this new trend and launches the world's lightest damper at 145 g.

2010

Dave Barker is one of DT USA’s longest-serving team members, with 22 years of experience. If you’ve sent a product in for service or repair in the last 10 years, odds are he’s the one who got you back rolling again

1998

Hub assembly in Biel: the range comprises front and rear hubs with 5 mm axles and were available in 4 different colors.

2000

Extensive and rigorous testing is essential: we still test wheels using this first house-developed test machine. The machine has since been refined, but the principle remains the same.

2002

The art of wheel building needs to be learned. With an eye for detail, professional wheel builder Gerd Schraner passes on his knowledge and sets high standards in workshops and seminars.

1996

The DT Swiss Inc. subsidiary in Grand Junction, Colorado, USA is opened in 1996. A dedicated spoke production facility and a sales and marketing team provide the company with a foothold in the important North American market.

2009

We’ve outgrown our HQ on Solothurnstrasse in Biel after 15 years. DT Swiss AG’s consistent growth demands more space. This photo shows the groundbreaking ceremony for a new building with modern infrastructure in the Längfeldweg industrial zone in Biel.

2012

Pro rider Nino Schurter winning on our products. At the World Championships in Saalfelden-Leogang, he wins his 2nd World Championship title on our XRC 950 T and Fork XRC 100. After this victory the 27.5 wheel size is the new standard.

1999

DT Swiss invests in its own nipple production. Not without reason: a bad spoke-nipple connection is the most common reason for spoke breaks.

2003

A range of innovative and highly reliable rims are added to the DT Swiss product range. Our guiding idea is constantly to push technological barriers.

2006

With its robust, reliable components, the FR 2350 is an icon among freeriders and can still be found on the trails to this day. Daniel Berger, Head of Product Management, proudly presents the first freeride wheel which set new standards.
