The no-tool concept found on all our hubs allows a tool-free disassembly for a small hub service in the workshop or even in the parking lot before your next ride. Find all information about service and spare parts in our Product Support tool - link in bio. 📸: @raineduponmedia

In the prototyping phase of the development process, our mechanical engineer Simon Hugentobler and Jean-Paul Ballard from Swiss Side conduct real-world tests in the wind tunnel. If the prototypes can successfully reproduce the CFD data in the wind tunnel, this ensures that the wheel performs best in reality too. #rebornfaster #meticulousdevelopment #aerodynamics #aerodynamicsbyswissside #swissside #windtunnel

While the first prototypes are being assembled in the BPM, Simon checks if the new DT aerolite II spokes can be mounted properly in the intended aerodynamic position and exchanges opinions in front of the camera. #rebornfaster #meticulousdevelopment #bpm

The field of expertise of Simon Hugentobler, our mechanical engineer, involves special projects focusing on aerodynamics. He was involved from the very beginning on the development of the new ARC wheels, doing wind tunnel tests and advising internally on aerodynamics and with which prototype to proceed. He also collaborated on the development of the new spoke shape with the aim of reducing rotational drag. By the way: last chance to head over to the REBORN FASTER doc on our YouTube channel if you'd like to enter the sweepstakes (link in bio). The sweepstake is open until tomorrow. #rebornfaster #meticulousdevelopment #aerodynamics #aerodynamicsbyswissside #swissside #windtunnel

As part of the open design competition #readytopaint organized by OPEN Cycle and DT Swiss, participants from around the world shared their personal stories on the topic. Title of the artwork: 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘𝗗𝗢𝗠: Artist: 𝗠𝗔𝗗𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗜𝗡𝗘 𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗡𝗔𝗦𝗧 (5th place) 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸? 𝘔. It deals with the feeling of autonomy, letting go and free development, which is made possible by cycling. It is about the fact that we humans are like leaves or dandelion seeds in the wind, letting ourselves be driven by our ideas, wishes and goals.” 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲? 𝘔. 𝘒𝘪𝘯𝘯𝘢𝘴𝘵: “For me, this motif is the embodiment of the symbiosis of experiencing nature and the feeling of freedom. […] Everything should appear light, airy and detached, like the sky and passing fields and meadows. For me, the dandelion is a sign of this feeling of letting go and freedom, whereas the watercolor background takes up the spring-like, light and light-flooded colors of nature and reflects them in pastel shades. Once again I have found my inspiration in nature.” 𝗪𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗶𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗲? 𝗟𝗲𝘁 𝘂𝘀 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀! #readytopaint @opencycle

𝘔. 𝘒𝘪𝘯𝘯𝘢𝘴𝘵: “The motif […] supports the athlete or hobby cyclist in his or her activities. It is meant to motivate and drive the cyclist, who feels personally addressed by the motif. In my opinion, it is important for every cyclist to be able to spend time in nature through their sport or leisure activity and to have the opportunity to explore and discover new areas through their bike.” 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗶𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹? 𝘔. 𝘒𝘪𝘯𝘯𝘢𝘴𝘵: “I do not see the bicycle as a means of transport, but as a way to enjoy nature. Already in my childhood I rode most of the routes by bike, because I enjoyed feeling and smelling the air, the wind and the scents of nature. With a bike I can ride along paths that would be too far on foot and too impenetrable with a motorized vehicle. My faithful Ghost mountain bike, which was already 16 years old, took me up small mountains, through forests along the lakeside and the banks of the river, to school and today some days to work. […] Riding a bike means for me to recharge my batteries, to enjoy nature, to be on the move in an environmentally conscious way and always get a bit further to my destination. Even if the goal of the day is simply to cycle.” 𝗪𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗶𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗲? 𝗟𝗲𝘁 𝘂𝘀 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀! #readytopaint @opencycle
