La última generación de ruedas ARC 1100 DICUT (disponibles en una
versión de freno de disco con tres alturas de llanta distintas: 80 mm,
62 mm y 50 mm) se desarrolló junto con SWISS SIDE, principales expertos
en la optimización aerodinámica. En consecuencia, el nuevo perfil de
llanta AERO+ minimiza tanto la resistencia aerodinámica como el momento
de dirección para mejorar la aerodinámica y el control incluso con
viento cruzado fuerte. Así, mantener el control de la rueda aerodinámica
es más sencillo, a la par que se aprovecha el impulso del efecto vela.
Este conjunto de ruedas se completa con los nuevos radios aerodinámicos
DT Swiss y el estilizado buje 180 DICUT, con los ultraligeros
rodamientos cerámicos SINC de competición.
ARC 1100 DICUT 80: el afán de este sofisticado conjunto de ruedas
es que disfrutes tanto en rutas llanas como en otras ligeramente
sinuosas.

Each frame from Sturdy Cycles, as well as various components such as the lock ring and crank, are individually 3D printed in titanium, requiring extensive development over many years.

During the past months we have been to the wind tunnel with some of our triathletes.
On top of the aero optimization of our ARC 1100 DICUT wheels, we are able to work on the optimization of the whole system.
Through a series of tests we are seeking for the smallest CdA values, adjusting the riders positions, cockpit setup, and much more.
We are looking forward to see them perform at the @thecollinscuptri this weekend.

Catch me if you can... @tri.anne.haug is the #ironman World Championship defending champion.
We took the chance to ask her few questions in her final days of preparation:
For training she uses the P 1800 SPLINE. She describes them as "reliable, durable, stiff and just made for the daily training". On her choice for competition she says the following: "I choose my setup of ARC 1100 DICUT depending on the demands of the race course and weather conditions". Which means for St. George, "I will use the ARC 1100 DICUT 50 mm in front. It's the lightest and is easy to control. In the back I will decide on the day depending on wind conditions if I pick the disc wheel or the 80 mm. But if it's safe enough to ride a disc, I will choose it because of aerodynamic aspects."
After the intense training blocks, we wanted to know her program for the days leading up to race day. "The last week is all about getting ready for the race. Recover from the hard training and prepare mentally for the race."
To finish we wanted to know her goal for the race. Her answer: "I want to show my best performance possible."

@samgolong aka The Big Unit... After a promising 2nd place at the #ironmantri 70.3 World Championship in St. George last year, he is back in Utah for his first full distance World Championship.
Our setup of ARC 1100 DICUT 80 & DISC wheels, specially checked by the DT Swiss team at the Ironman village, will be supporting his @trekbikes Speed Concept on the bike course.
In his words, "DT Swiss wheels have changed my ride experience. I feel more freedom and speed of movement with the wheels underneath me than I ever have before. The wheels accelerate and allow me to surge at will. The stiffness is unmatched. Finally, the sound of the 180 hub makes me excited to get enough speed to freewheel!"
We are excited to see him perform on Saturday and hope he will make the sound of the 180 hubs resonate in the red hills of St. George.

Team work makes the dream work... For @lotto_soudal every single #ambitiouscyclist plays their role in the team's performance.
To place them in the best possible position, it is important that the riders can have full faith in their equipment, so that they can focus on the race plan and strategy.
They use two different setups: the ARC 1100 DICUT for the majority of their races, and the ERC 1100 DICUT for rougher roads, such as the one of @parisroubaixcourse.
The latter with its increased inner width allows for broader tires which can be inflated at a lower pressure. The result is more shock absorption while ensuring strong grip and traction.

A huge part of professional road cycling is the staff of the pro teams. Today we would like to put the men behind the scenes of the @bbhotels_ktm team on the front stage.
They are the ones responsible for fine tuning the riders' setups according to the unique conditions of each race, so that our wheels can provide the #competitiveedge for which they have been meticulously developed.
This is especially important during the spring classics season with its rough conditions.

Triathlon being typically an individual sport, it is great to see what the @bmcprotri team has managed to build together. Whether during training camps or at races, the support of a team is incredibly valuable.
@katr_matthews started her season in the best manner with a win at the #ironman703lanzarote. With the fastest bike split, we were happy to see the ARC 1100 DICUT wheels help her achieve her ambitions. #engineeringperformance
