Looking at the market and various surveys, we saw that most mountain bikers choose alloy rims to build their wheel sets. DT Swiss rims are known and valued for their low weight, high quality and strength. Top notch alloy rims are all welded today and so are ours. In combination with our unique PHR nipple-spoke interface washer, which distribute the load on a large area, we were able to reduce the wall thickness keeping the rotational mass low. To meet the requirements of the various fields of application we developed specific rim profiles.
Due to popular demand from Enduro riders, EXC 1501 SPLINE® ONE wheels are offered with a Center Lock disc interface and now also an additional 6-bolt option – letting the rider choose the perfect system for their needs. #1501carbonized#engineeringperformance
Lighter, stiffer, more precise and even easier to maintain – the new 240 EXP hub is a must for 1501 SPLINE ® ONE wheels. The RATCHET EXP free hub system, which comes with 36 points of engagement transfers the pedalling load directly to the trail and is more durable than ever. #1501carbonized#engineeringperformance
Our new 1501 SPLINE ONE wheels use requirement specific carbon rims. Carbon enables us to produce a 30mm wide Cross Country rim, which supports modern Cross Country tires ideally, allowing lower tyre pressure and therefore reducing rolling resistance on rough surfaces. Not only the XC wheel benefits form the low weight of a carbon rim. Also our all mountain and enduro specific wheels profit from the low moment of inertia a carbon rim offers, granting a snappy acceleration, precise handling and high speeds. #1501carbonized#engineeringperformance
WHAT YOU WOULD BUILD - introducing the all-new 1700 SPLINE.
Some of you may now wonder what happen to the benchmark aluminium wheelset?
Well, we didn’t forget it! We had a close look at the market and checked what people build on their own. The findings are combined in the new 1700 SPLINE. Benchmark alloy rims, bombproof redesigned 350 hubs - upgraded by a 36t SL Ratchet System.

The third and latest generation of the 1501 SPLINE ONE carries on the idea of requirement specific wheels and even rises to the next level. Using carbon allowed us to save weight and to further improve the riding behavior for the specific field of application.

Next up in our DT Swiss Factory Squad series is our Hybrid Product Manager Nils’s @starlingcycles Murmur. Coming from a dirt jump background, steel has always been Nils' frame material of choice. His bike is set up pretty radical; super slack and long with steep trails in mind. To make it even more special, he decided to strip off the paint from his F535 fork crown – he doesn’t care about warranty… 😉
DT Swiss components:
F 535 ONE fork (stripped crown)
R 535 ONE shock

“Almost perfect allrounder with good and very good scores in all criteria”. This is what @RennRadmagazin said about the #PR1400 DICUTOXIC32 in their latest allround wheelset test review. Rated as “Winner” the wheelset received 5/5 for a further “[…] outstanding brake performance, a high lateral stiffness and a reliable high system weight” [of 130 kg]. #leadtheride
#engineeringperformance at work:
Spoke tension is the hidden force that makes your wheel durable, provides precise steering and gives you the ability to accelerate.
The art of wheel building is to set the spoke tension as close as possible to the given maximum while keeping the deviation of the tensions between them as low as possible.
Fans and riders miss the Belgian spring classics 2020. CX Team @pauwelssauzen_bingoal with top stars like 2020 national champion @Laurenssweeck gather once a week for a group ride to put kms into the legs. One of their rides went through the Flanders region with its iconic climbs such as Koppenberg, Oude Kwaremont, Molenberg…
#meticulousdevelopment starts deep in the detail. Our #dtswissacademy is used mainly for product and service training of bike shop staff to keep things rolling. A dedicated hub service training by DT Swiss’ Jose Gerber provides a #competitiveedge to the French B&B Hôtels – Vital Concept Pro Team p/b KTM (here with team mechanic Grégory Geudon). The team is ready to restart the season at the Virtual @letourdefrance on July 4th. @bbhotels_vc

Our twins @caro_gehrig and @anitagehrig were meant to be riding their new bikes at the first round of the Enduro World Series in Columbia but we will have to wait a bit longer to see them racing for now. Their wheels of choice for the most demanding enduro traills around the world: DT Swiss EXC 1200 SPLINE.
After rehabilitating some forgotten trails behind her house during lockdown, @marymoncorge is now finally able to take her bike and friends out to the trails again for some E-bike fun. 📸 @matt_wragg#ambitiouscyclist
