Area of Activity
B. Sc. Mechanical engineering, specialising in plastic and textile technology
|Duration of traineeship||October 2018 - May 2019|
Please describe here in brief what your activities were during your traineeship
During my traineeship, I developed a hub shell. Here, I selected the material, established the geometry of the hub and designed a tool for manufacturing the shell. An important part of my work was testing partial solutions. This also involved a lot of hands-on work.
How did you become aware of the traineeship at DT Swiss?
I got the tip from Luis, a fellow student who had already completed a traineeship at DT Swiss.
How is DT Swiss different from other employers?
Almost all employees share enthusiasm for the product and very strongly identify with the company! They are also all test riders, of course!
What were you able to take from your time at DT Swiss?I learned so much! Being able to implement my first independent project and being supported, but also challenged was a lot of fun. I also learned (to understand) Bernese German. ;-)
What was your personal highlight during your traineeship?
Looking back, it is great to see how the things that occur in your head can take a clearer and clearer form over time. I am very grateful to the company that I was able to write my Master’s thesis at DT Swiss. Apart from my work, there were also other highlights, whether it was cross-country skiing in winter with colleagues or riding a racing bike in spring.
And what does the time after your traineeship hold in store for you?
The end of the traineeship marks the end of my studies. I will go back to Germany to do my doctorate at the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology IPT – and I will definitely keep in touch with DT in the future!
