Disc brake IS RW

Perfect disc brake performance defined with the 240s IS disc hubs. Ratchet System® design is applied to all hubs with multiple rear hub convertibility options. There also is a 150 mm version for DH/FR use. The 240s IS disc hub also has the extremely versatile 20 mm front hub which can be converted to any front hub axle configuration. The IS disc version of the 240s hubs are only available in 32 hole counts for 2013.

Functions

  • DT Swiss Thru bolt
    The DT Swiss Thru Bolt system is 100% compatible with standard quick release dropouts. It uses 9 mm front and 10 mm rear alloy axles, making the connection between the wheel and the frame / fork substantially stronger and safer than a standard quick release.
  • IS (6-bolt)
    International rotor mounting standard using 6 bolts.
  • No tool
    No special tools needed for routine maintenance.
  • QR
    A wheelmounting system developed by Tullio Campagnolo in 1922. Originally designed for road bicycles, it became the standard for road- and mountain bikes
  • Ratchet system<sup>®</sup>
    This patented freewheel system uses precision ratchets, featuring extremely high load capacity and reliability. The no tool concept allows for an easy execution of routine maintenance.
  • RWS
    Patented wheelmounting system. Stiffer, safer and more user friendly than conventional quick releases. 100 % disc brake compatible.
  • Thru axle
    A thru axle connection is not compatible with the quick release standard. Thru axles are always an integrated part of the frame or fork. The diameter of the axle is generally 20 or 15 mm at the front and 12 mm at the rear.
  • X -12
    The X-12 system is as stiff as a normal thru axle but at the same time as user friendly and lightweight as a conventional quick release.
